Tim Steer will give a presentation on the exciting Atlantic Coast Express (ACErail) project at this month's Speakers Corner event. ACE Rail seeks to restore the Barnstaple-Bideford rail link and connect it up to the national railway. The proposed route goes alongside the Tarka Trail and could be combined with sea defences to protect the cycle and pedestrian link from rising flood levels. A new train link would help take cars off the congested A39 and B3233 and is a vital part of a low-carbon transport strategy.
