About Patricia
Patricia Ackerman is a Democrat running to defeat Rep. Mark Amodei and fight the corruption and cruelty emboldened by Trump. Patricia was the primary caregiver for her mother, who died prematurely, unable to find timely, affordable care in their rural community. She's running to transition us toward a healthcare system that works for everyone, so we can put an end to medical bankruptcies and ensure healthcare is accessible and affordable - a public option.

As a retired high altitude mountaineer, Patricia isn't afraid of tough climbs. Fleeing a violent home at the age of 15, Patricia relied on her pragmatic nature to work hard to build opportunities, starting her first business as an interior landscape designer at age 21. Her life experiences, careers and volunteer work demonstrate the critical thinking, drive for success and problem solving we need in Congress.
Patricia settled in Minden in 2002. Her husband Todd is a retired math teacher at Carson High. Her stepdaughter Halee is a political science graduate and working "on the Hill" in D.C. They are a family dedicated to public service.

Rising up after Trump's election, Patricia started a Women's March Huddle to create a supportive space for women. As the daughter of immigrants, she organized against Trump's cruel family separations.
Now she's running for Congress to be a champion for northern Nevada.
