It's already one year since we had Sadiq Khan on stage answering to our London Citizens Manifesto. Join us at City Hall to celebrate what we've won so far, and remind him that we're still here and waiting for the rest of his commitments to become reality.
With a special focus on two campaigns:
Rally for the Bus!
Is there room on the bus for all of us? We say yes!
We've been campaigning for the last two years for people seeking asylum to have access to the bus.
Last Valentine's Day, we won a 'Date' with the Deputy Mayor Seb Dance to discuss the issue.
We've now achieved our first campaign win, which the Deputy Mayor Seb Dance will announce at our rally! Come and celebrate with us, and show the Deputy Mayor that there's big public support for this win so he'll keep going in making change on this issue.
Work & Wages
Our communities are feeling the affects of low pay and insecure work more than ever. At our assembly Sadiq Khan made commitments around Living Hours, planning and procurement, and health & social care. We've made good progress so far, but there's lots more work to do until we can turn these commitments into wins.
We need you to turn out in your numbers to show how powerful London Citizens is!
The action theme is butterflies: because if we can ride the bus, and if we earn enough money, we can all flourish like butterflies!
Bring cardboard buses and butterflies, and bring your friends and colleagues.
We are also looking for schools/young people/ creatives who can do performances, songs, and dances to lift our spirits - contact blue.weiss@citizensuk.org if you want to show off your talented people.
