National housing action to improve disrepair and reduce bills

Start: Wednesday, October 15, 202511:00 AM

End: Wednesday, October 15, 202502:30 PM

Join leaders from across the country to meet in central London to share local campaigns on the three strands of the housing and homelessness campaign: temporary accommodation, affordable housing and repair and upgrade. We will then take action collectively in pursuit of warm, healthy and affordable homes.

What is the action about?

The Warm Homes Plan will deliver over £13 billion of new national government money to local councils to spend on cutting carbon emissions and is due to be released in the autumn.

We are calling on the Minister for Energy Consumers, Martin McCluskey MP, to make sure that some of this money can be spent on repairing poor quality housing at the same time as upgrading them with Warm Homes improvements. This will encourage local councils to create a more integrated approach to upgrade and repair and support many of the housing issues that leaders in our alliances are facing.

Invite your MP to meet you to talk about about housing issues are affecting your community and their constituency.
