The Richmond Zoning Advisory Council (ZAC) has released itsfirst draft of proposed zoning changes—but we’re concerned it doesn’t go far enough to ensure a future of abundant housing in our city.
We need your voice to make it better. Join us at the July ZAC meeting on Wednesday, August 13, to urge the council to strengthen the proposal and expand Richmond’s capacity to build more homes in more places.
Public comment starts promptly at 4:00 PM. This can be delivered on site or VIRTUALLY. We wil send out virtual link when we get it so even if you can't make in person please tune in online.
Stick around - we’ll head over somewhere walking distance around 5 or 5.30 for happy hour and housing talk!
A few suggestions:
✅ Highlight how more homes on your block would benefit the neighborhood
✅ Call for upzoning along current—and future—transit lines
✅ Support growth in mixed-use nodes and neighborhood centers
✅ Recommend smaller lot widths or reduced setbacks in key districts
✅ Endorse two units by right citywide—or go bold and ask for three!
