Join the Wilmington Democratic Socialists of America for an evening of solidarity and education. On April 12th the Immigrant Solidarity Committee will deliver a presentation covering the modern history of anti-immigration sentiment and policy in the United States. They will especially focus on state and capital interests using immigration and border politics to manipulate and divide the working-class along constructed race lines to secure and consolidate political and economic power. Afterward there will be a group discussion alongside a “whistle-kit” build. Whistle-kits will include a whistle to use during an ICE sighting as well as portable literature essential for at risk communities and their accomplices. With the experiences of LA, Chicago, and Minneapolis in mind, we must prepare now to defend our neighbors and ourselves from injustice.
