Apr. 20: CANCELLED: Protest at Gap at Harvard Square -- End Sweatshop Death Traps Now!

Start: Saturday, April 20, 2013 2:00 PM

THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED. Since 2006, more than 600 garment workers have died in fires while sewing clothing for companies like Gap, H&M, and Walmart. These deaths could have been prevented, but Gap is refusing to pay for reforms and work with workers and their unions to put an end to the killing and corporate crimes. Any day, there could be another fire with workers locked inside. Join us at the Gap to call on the company to join with Tommy Hilfiger and adopt real fire safety now! Sponsored by Alliance for a Secular and Democratic South Asia, Boston IWW, Corporate Action Network, International Labor Rights Forum, MA Interfaith Worker Justice, MA Jobs with Justice, New England Jewish Labor Committee, SumOfUs, SweatFree Communities, and United Students Against Sweatshops. Meet-up at 1:45pm for a start time of 2pm sharp!
