Please join us for “Build Solar ASAP” - a virtual teach-in on the ASAP Act on December 9, 2025 at 12pm.

New York is rapidly falling behind on our climate goals and electricity rates are skyrocketing for households across the state. At the same time, the federal administration has cut renewable energy funding nation-wide. At this crucial moment, we need to double down on New York’s most successful clean energy sector, rooftop and community solar. These smaller-scale solar projects have reduced electric bills for over 1 million homes and businesses across the state, and the industry supports more than 15,000 good local jobs.

The Accelerate Solar for Affordable Power (ASAP) Act (S6570 | A8758) would rapidly accelerate our solar build-out by doubling our state goal to 20 gigawatts of distributed solar by 2035, and cutting through interconnection red tape to make it cheaper and easier to bring new solar to New Yorkers.

On December 9th, join us to learn about the ASAP Act and how we can build the renewable, affordable energy that we desperately need.

We will discuss the proposed legislation; showcase examples of how solar has been instrumental to bringing affordable energy to households, businesses, and communities across the state; and how you can get involved in the push to increase solar production and lower electric bills here in New York.
