Every month we meet to discuss articles pertaining to a topic in socialist labor organizing tactics, theory, and history. This month's readings focus on relationships between immigrants to the U.S. and the labor movement:

1. "Immigrants Are Leaders in Our Class Struggle" by Avery Wear (Tempest Mag)  This article talks about the central role the immigrants have played in the labor movement and the broader class struggle in the US.

2. "Organizing the Unorganizable" by E. Tammy Kim (Dissent) "Worker centers have empowered nurses, nannies, busboys, taxi drivers, and many other low-wage immigrants long thought to be “unorganizable.” They provide clues to the future of organized labor—but can their victories scale up?"

3. "Confront or Cave? Federal Pressure Splits the Building Trades" by Natascha Elena Uhlmann and Keith Brower Brown (Labor Notes)  This article discusses the current paralysis that is gripping the building trades union in response to Trump's crackdowns on immigration and DEI.

Please read at least two of the articles before the meeting. We look forward to seeing you there!
