A call to action for all of our members in Aurora to attend Monday’s Aurora City Council meeting on Monday (10/12) @ 6:00pm. While the groundswell of public support to stop the construction of of the proposed Trident Data Center appears to be having an impact, there are two other proposed data centers in Aurora that are not receiving attention and would also have an immense negative impact on our communities. We are looking to draw attention to those proposals and ask the council to reconsider a data center moratorium.
We are also asking folks to consider making a comment about Aurora’s ALPR/flock contract and to push for letting the contract expire in March and not to replace it with anything. Mass surveillance makes all of us less safe and is actively being used by APD, ICE and numerous other government agencies to stalk, bully and persecute our migrant neighbors.
Please attend the meeting to support the people speaking up about both of these items, and if you are comfortable, please consider making a public comment against data centers or ALPRs.
