On November 25, 2018, U.S. Border Agents fired tear gas and rubber bullets at a group of immigrants crossing into San Diego from Tijuana, Mexico, including young children. These policies are cruel and unjustified, and must be loudly rejected. The people who were fired upon are fleeing dangerous conditions and have the human right to seek asylum. Join Families Belong Together for a weekend of action on Dec. 1 - 2 to say, “STOP THE TEARS.”
We will hold a vigil for the asylum seekers under attack at the U.S.-Mexico border, voice our outrage, hear from refugee advocates, political leaders, and representatives from local immigrant and religious communities, and sign a wall that will be delivered to the White House in the coming weeks, telling the Trump Administration to stop the brutal attacks and adhere to U.S. law relating to those who seek asylum at our borders
We will meet on the Pratt Street side of the courthouse, at the corner of Pratt and Sharp streets.
