Did the Sanders campaign raise your expectations for what is possible? Are you wondering where to direct your organizing skills and confidence now that the campaign is over?
Join the Olympia Democratic Socialists of America for an evening workshop on where we go from here, how DSA continues the fight beyond Bernie, and how you can get involved. Our special guest speakers include Meagan Day and Micah Uetricht, authors of the new book Bigger Than Bernie: How We Go from the Sanders Campaign to Democratic Socialism.
In dedicating our efforts to Bernie Sanders’ campaign, DSA has always understood the full import of Bernie’s slogan, ‘Not me. Us.’ Our own spin on that was that if Bernie won the election, the fight would continue. And if Bernie lost, the fight would continue. With Bernie’s campaign over, it is up to the rest of us to make sure the fight continues to build working-class power and push for policies like Medicare for All, a Green New Deal, and Housing for all.
As the latest milestone on the long road of working-class struggle, the Bernie Sanders campaign has shown us just how many people around the country are willing to fight for a better world, and how much power we have when we all work together. Another milestone is the growth of DSA over the last five years, becoming the organizing force in the resurgent Left.
The Democratic Socialists of America are organizing to build working-class power so that when we demand universal health care, the guarantee of a good job, and a clean environment, we can make it happen. Because when we come together and fight for a common cause, we can win!
Register Now for Beyond Bernie with Olympia DSA! This event will be held remotely via Zoom and is open to all, especially folk new to DSA.
