DC has been under Trump’s occupation for almost a year, but this is not the first time the federal government has interfered with DC’s right to self-government.

The first half of this teach-on will focus on the history of DC’s struggle for autonomy and how it's not just ICE that’s putting our neighbors at risk, and focus on the harm done by MPD, other local agencies, and DC political leaders. In the second half, several local organizers will talk about what the occupation has looked like to people across the city and how we can work together to remove all the barriers to public safety.
