Bike Jam for a Bike Grid - Lincoln Avenue Streetscape Edition

Start: Wednesday, August 17, 2022 5:30 PM

CDOT and IDOT are preparing for a streetscape project on Lincoln Avenue from Catalpa to Lawerence. We know they aren't doing enough in the project designs to protect vulnerable road users. And after we saw the destruction a motorist caused to the Ainslie Arts Plaza, CDOT and IDOT should have gotten the idea. But they haven't so we're coming out to demand better.

See you at Legion Park's South Playground at the corner of N Virginia Ave and W Catalpa Ave on Wednesday, August 17th at 5:30pm. The Jam will end at a listening session where mayoral candidate Kam Buckner will listen to our concerns as a biking community at Northcenter Town Square. It's time for a #bikegridnow. All wheels welcome!

The number of pedestrians and cyclists being killed on our city streets is rising at a horrifying rate. Chicago needs safe streets for all. A bike grid is a huge leap in that direction, creating safer streets for cyclists, pedestrians, children, and motorists alike.

We are actively lobbying our alders, CDOT, the mayor, and other local organizations but we need your help to make sure they hear us and see us.

The City, the mayor, our alders, CDOT, and everyone else will have no choice but to hear us.
