Bike to the Strike in Boston

Start: Friday, September 20, 2019 9:30 AM

Don’t take the ‘Pike: Ride your Bike to the Strike!

Join the Youth Climate Strike this Friday, September 20, at Boston City Hall Plaza.  Come hear the voices of youth, calling for adults to take action to stabilize climate.

A group of climate-concerned bicycle commuters will ride east into Boston, departing from Framingham.  Join us to support carbon-neutral transit! Pedal-powered transportation needs infrastructure to accommodate the growth in bicycle ridership.  Roadway bike lanes and mixed-use trails that interconnect downtowns spur business and community development, while improving public health, safety, air quality, and the environment.

We will follow a modified Marathon route but along Commonwealth Avenue (not Beacon Street), reaching points below at approximate times:

Meet 9 am and depart Framingham MBTA Station at 9:15 am

Natick Common at 9:30

Wellesley Rt 135 and Rt 16 at 10:00

Newton Rt 16 and Commonwealth Avenue at 10:15

Arrive Boston City Hall at 11:30 am

To join the ride, RSVP to climateriders2019@gmail.com.

MBTA Worcester commuter rail allows bicycles to be taken aboard during off peak hours, which include trains departing South Station before 1:55 pm, or after 7:35 pm.

See you en route!
