Join us for a powerful evening of community stories, shared history, and collective vision!

“Bilingual Education in BPS: Community Voices from Busing to Today” is a community forum that brings together parents, educators, and advocates to reflect on the ongoing fight for quality public education for immigrant children in Boston. From the desegregation era to today’s push for multilingual programs, immigrant communities have always led the struggle for justice in our schools.

This event will uplift community voices across generations and build momentum for the current campaign to expand and protect bilingual education in Boston Public Schools.

We’ll share a short film, hear stories from longtime organizers and parents, and discuss what it will take to grow strong, equitable multilingual programs in BPS. Dinner will be served, there will be childcare and interpretation in and all are welcome!

“Educación Bilingüe en BPS: Voces Comunitarias durante 50 Años” es un foro comunitario que reúne a padres, educadores y defensores para reflexionar sobre la lucha continua por una educación pública de calidad para los niños inmigrantes en Boston. Desde la era de la desegregación hasta la lucha actual por programas multilingües, las comunidades inmigrantes siempre han liderado la lucha por la justicia en nuestras escuelas.

Este evento elevará las voces comunitarias a través de generaciones y construirá impulso para la campaña actual que busca expandir y proteger la educación bilingüe en las Escuelas Públicas de Boston.

Compartiremos un cortometraje, escucharemos historias de organizadores y padres de largo tiempo, y discutiremos qué se necesita para fortalecer los programas multilingües en BPS. ¡Habrá cena y todos están bienvenidos!
