Black & Arab Solidarity Iftar 2.0
The Annex at the Arab American National Museum on Saturday, March 14th, 6:30 PM
Hosted by Arab Americans for Progress, Dream of Detroit, Detroit Action, and the MI Working Families Party
Dinner catered by Baobab Fare (halal), Yemini coffee by Haraz Coffee House, and dessert from Masri Sweets.
Join us for an evening of breaking bread, deepening relationships, and strengthening solidarity between Black and Arab communities in Detroit and Dearborn.
In a moment of political polarization, state violence, and economic pressure on working families, our communities cannot afford to operate in silos. Black & Arab Solidarity Iftar 2.0 is an intentional space to gather during Ramadan, rooted in reflection, shared struggle, and collective responsibility.
We will share a meal, hear from movement leaders, and engage in honest conversation about what real solidarity requires in this political moment, both locally and beyond.
This is more than a cultural gathering. It is a strategy space.
Together, we will:
• Reflect on the history of Black & Arab solidarity
• Name tensions and barriers that have limited collaboration
• Explore shared political interests and overlapping struggles
• Identify concrete next steps toward sustained organizing and joint campaigns
Whether you are new to this work or have been building in community for years, your presence matters.
Come ready to listen. Come ready to connect. Come ready to build power together.
