In recent months, all across the U.S. we have seen a growing movement of people demanding an end to deportations, family separations, and the violence of immigration enforcement. From windows being smashed in front of the courthouse to our neighbors being kidnapped off the street on their way to work, we have witnessed firsthand the terror ICE brings into our community.
That’s why immigrant-led organizing right here in Bridgeton is so important.
Los Tequios de Cumberland County, alongside community members and partners, is inviting people to come out for May Day, a day of action rooted in workers’ struggles and carried forward today by immigrant communities fighting for dignity, safety, and respect.
Across New Jersey, especially in North Jersey, we’ve seen thousands of people take to the streets on May Day. This year, we’re bringing that same energy to South Jersey.
We’re bringing May Day to Bridgeton!
This moment calls for all of us, especially those who see themselves as allies, to stand with immigrant communities. Not later. Not when it’s easier. But now.
Immigrants in our communities are working, raising families, and contributing every day while also facing the constant threat of detention and deportation. The same system that depends on immigrant labor is the one that targets immigrant lives.
May Day is a chance to stand together and make that visible.
This is more than just a march. It’s about showing up for each other, building community, and being part of something bigger than ourselves. It’s about saying clearly that our communities deserve dignity, protection, and the right to live without fear.
Join us in Bridgeton this May Day.
Bring your people. Bring your energy. Bring your commitment to standing in solidarity.
Because when we show up together, we are stronger.
