The 21st Joint Palestinian-Israeli Memorial Ceremony, organised by the Parents Circle-Families Forum and Combatants for Peace, will take place on Monday 20th April.

In these times of deep despair over the expanding conflicts in Iran, Lebanon, Israel, Gaza and the West Bank, constant news of violence is overwhelming, and hope can seem out of reach. Yet even now, under extremely difficult conditions, Palestinians and Israelis come together to refuse to accept this as normal and to honour the memory of loved ones lost to the conflict, to demand an end to the occupation and ongoing violence and reaffirm their commitment to a path of peace and solidarity.

Brighton Friends of Standing Together are hosting a live screening of the Joint Palestinian-Israeli Memorial Ceremony: at the same time as other FOST groups and partner organisations across the UK, Europe and worldwide.

We invite you to come and watch the ceremony with us and take this moment for quiet reflection. When we come together we can also stand stronger in our shared commitment to oppose this forever war and oppression, so that we may also renew our resolve to work for a new normal, where all citizens are free and equal.

Standing Together is a grassroots organisation of Palestinian and Jewish Israelis working together against the occupation, against the Forever War and for equality, social and environmental justice, and peace. They work with a coalition of other peace and anti-occupation groups in Israel and worldwide- including Combatants for Peace and The Parents' Circle- Families Forum - to be a protective presence, provide aid and shelter to those under attack and marginalised, and to remember every single day that this is not normal. They come together to refuse to dehumanise each other and in that way lies hope.
