The violent protests at the Capitol last week show that the future of continued far-right attacks if the left doesn't get sufficiently organized and provide a radically different alternative:
- $2k COVID relief; Medicare for all now
- Defund the police and reinvest in BIPOC communities
- A Green New Deal with a federal jobs guarantee to help put people back in work
- Deportations moratorium now; Abolish ICE and end all detentions
Seattle DSA will be organizing an Inauguration Day event to help bring the left together and fight for our shared demands. If you’re interested in helping plan this action, come to this planning meeting!
The Democratic Party establishment wants to use Wednesday's events to shy away from doing any of this, papering over the fact that they now have a majority in the Senate and that this agenda is completely possible if they had the will! Come to this meeting to help organize a strong showing of the left on Inauguration Day to show that fighting for this alternative is the only way we won't face a Trump 2.0 in four years. This is an opportunity to talk people who are re-politicized after Wednesday's Capitol protests and looking for a way forward.
