All DSA members are invited to join us for a training led by our region's District Field Organizer, David Lefevre. The role of the Regional Field Organizer is to work with local chapters in the area to help them reach their full potential as organizing bodies. In that spirit, we are collaborating with him to organize a training and potluck social for our members. Join us to develop leadership skills, cultivate inter-chapter comradery, and get to know our liaison to National DSA!

6:30-8:00 Training: Building Capacity & Developing Leaders
The training we are offering, "Building Capacity & Developing Leaders," focuses on power as it relates to the work of a socialist organization, the importance of utilizing mobilizing models, understanding the role of leaders in our work, and the nuts and bolts work of charting, listwork, and making an organizing ask. Participants will develop a concise understanding of the difference between mobilizing and organizing and how that affects their work, a concrete model and examples of how to do list work, and better ability to identify leaders.

8:00-10:00 Potluck Social
Following the training, participants will be invited to participate in a social. We request that each guest bring an offering of food or drink to share; however, no attendee will be turned away due to an inability to do so. Please be mindful of dietary restrictions, and consider labeling food items appropriately.

This event will take place in Davis, CA. Location information will be sent out to participants via email a few days prior to the event.
