Canvass for Hugo with DSA-LA Immigration Justice Committee and Nonprofit Workers Circle

Community power for immigrants, nonprofit workers, and everyone!


Come join the DSA-LA Immigrant Justice Committee and the DSA-LA Nonprofit Workers Circle to canvass for Hugo Soto-Martinez in his race for LA City Council District 13. We invite comrades to knock doors with us and the Hugo Soto-Martinez campaign on Saturday, December 4th from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.

If you’ve never canvassed before, the campaign staff will provide you with a thorough training, pair you up with someone experienced/confident, and make sure you are comfortable going out and speaking with the community members. If you are monolingual in English, you will be paired with a volunteer who is bilingual in Spanish or Tagalog.

You will need:
  • a fully charged smartphone
  • water
  • a face mask for COVID-19
  • a tote bag/backpack (optional, useful!)
  • a hat (optional, but a good idea)
  • sunscreen (if you need it)

¡Ven con nosotros, con el comité de inmigracion y los colegas de nonprofit en DSA-LA! Vamos a hacer campaña para Hugo Soto-Martinez en el 4 de diciembre a las 10 de la mañana. Hugo es un candidato para el ayuntamiento en el distrito 13, y él quiere construir poder comunitario por los todos en 2022.

En el día, tendremos una instrucción inicial para hacer campaña con el personal de Hugo Soto-Martinez. Iremos a pares, y una persona necesita hablar español o tagalo. No hay problema si no hablas con fluidez. Te ayudaremos y emparejaremos con una compañera que puede hablar dos idiomas.

Necesitas:
  • Un teléfono celular
  • El agua
  • La mascarilla para COVID-19
  • Una mochila, opcional
  • Una gorra, opcional
  • El protector solar si quieres
