DSA-LA member and socialist in office Hugo Soto-Martinez has fought for the rights of labor, tenants, the LGBTQ+ community, immigrants, bike and bus riders, as well as to expand crisis response alternatives to policing. Let's endorse his re-election campaign!

Council District 13 is DSA Los Angeles' strongest district by total membership and one of the most socialist-voting districts in the country. CM Soto-Martinez has been a pillar of socialist governance and his victory and term in office so far has included regular and continuous engagement with DSA in his communications, his votes, and his positions. He has particularly been a pillar for building a strong left-labor political pole in Los Angeles, helping bring LA's strong labor movement into a stronger alliance with DSA-LA and helping advance pro-Labor transformative reforms.

When DSA-LA endorses someone or something that means not only are we vouching for them/it, we are also going to put in work in support of the candidate or initiative by forming a working group that will volunteer hundreds of hours organizing canvasses, phone banks, doing research, making content for social media, and more. It is a massive commitment to make and depends on large amounts of chapter enthusiasm and labor to mobilize and succeed in our electoral work
