Join us for an afternoon of crafts, discussion and celebration.
For this year's Refugee Week, we want to celebrate the superpower of our city's diverse communities.

During the event, we will be exploring how people power is taking on businesses to stop human rights abuses and environmental destruction within supply chains. We are currently confirming our speakers so keep an eye on this page for more information about the event.

There will be activities for all ages from painting a forest mural, writing to decision makers to making trees for our 3D rainforest.

In the spirit of swapping for Great Big Green Week, we will round off the day with a bring and share buffet from 5PM-6:30PM.

This is a family friendly event so children are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Event timetable:
  • 12:30PM - 2:30PM: informal craft and chat - helps us paint a rainforest mural, add trees to our 3D rainforest and add you message to our Keep Forests, Don't Deforest! banner. It will also be an ideal opportunity to talk to us about our current Planet Over Profit and Big Climate Plan campaigns.
  • 3PM - 5PM: Speaker session - Confirmed speakers include:
  • 5PM - 6:30PM: Bring and share celebration - have a chat with like minded people over some food. If you're not in a position to bring any food to share, you're still welcome to stay, chat and eat.

We are looking for people to volunteer to help with our Celebrating CommUnity event, whether it’s helping to set up, manning the welcome table or helping us organise it. If you’d like to help, please get in touch with us on - info@birminghamfoe.org.uk or call 01216326909
Part of the event will take place in Digbeth Community Garden where the ground is uneven in places. The Warehouse building has step free access, a lift and a accessible toilet on the ground and first floors.
