Join AFA-CWA and the Charlotte Metrolina CLC for the Charlotte Pride Parade!
For the Festival Booth:
This year Charlotte Pride will be at First Ward Park August 16-17. We have a GREAT space just outside ImaginOn/Children's Theatre in spot 7123 (near the Red Heart on the Left).

For the Parade:
The Pride Parade will be from 1-4p on Sunday August 17th. We are still awaiting our final placement which will inform us better about when everyone should meet up. Our vehicle will be in place by 11am at the latest. We should plan to have everyone in our designated area between 12 & 1pm. If we are towards the end of the parade I will be sure to update you so that we aren't all standing around for 2 hours before we even get moving. If you have signs you would like to carry promoting your union, you are welcome to bring them. If you would like to pass out anything, feel free. There is to be NO throwing of items into the crowd. Unfortunately no pets can be in the parade as it is a safety hazard with the heat. The day of, we will assign monitors to be on the 4 corners of our vehicle and at the back of our group who will help assist in listening and sharing direction from CMPD or the parade coordinators. We will keep a vehicles' length between groups, and once the parade begins, we will NOT STOP unless instructed to by parade coordinators or CMPD. The parade will start at Tryon and 9th, and continue down to 3rd street where we will take a left and then left onto College. There will be NO STOPPING until we are back in the designated parade areas near the start of the parade. Do NOT leave your personal belongings in the vehicle and then try and chase it down.

We want to ensure everyone has a fun and SAFE weekend. If you see something, say something, use the buddy system, HYDRATE, wear sunscreen, and ignore any protesters.
We are all looking forward to a fun and fantastic weekend! Thank you for helping get our message out there and showing off our Union Pride!
