We are a group of young workers living in Canada’s largest city, organizing to fight corporate greed and build a people's agenda.

As the cost of living rises, and the climate crisis rages on, our government continues to give handouts to major corporations and throw their support behind privatization. Right now, corporate interests are pushing AI into every aspect of our lives. From building hyperscale data centres that threaten our shared resources and increase energy costs; to deploying AI systems that threaten workers’ rights, heighten surveillance and threaten to replace us. Just this month, the Carney government committed its full support to new AI development, funneling hundreds of millions of dollars into private research, and granting support and social license to privately owned data centres owned by the corporations and billionaires that continue to price gouge and hoard wealth. This comes in the midst of drastic cuts to public services, backsliding on climate, and threats to labour rights – and all of this comes at the cost of our shared climate, resources, health, jobs and economic well-being.

As young workers, we are coming together to make our interests known, to fight back and to push for a people’s agenda that serves the public interest and the public good. Join the Common Horizon Toronto chapter for its first-ever public event. Join us to talk about building power amongst young workers in the city, and what we can do to fight back.

Space is limited, so register by Saturday, May 30th.
