Climate Action in Wales - Exploring the 2025 Action Scorecards Climate Emergency UK, along with the help of over 256 volunteers, created the Council Climate Action Scorecards to measure actual climate action from all UK councils and hold them to account. This session, delivered in partnership with Climate Cymru, will cover: - How Climate Emergency UK created the Council Climate Action Scorecards and what the results show in Wales. - How you can use the Scorecards in your campaigning - we'll dig into the data and how you can use it effectively - and a chance to connect with people working on climate action from your local area and learn from each other. The Zoom link for the session will be sent in an email to you when you register for the event. Context Local authorities control 30% of the path to net zero - yet without national guidance or reporting requirements, council climate progress has been inconsistent across the UK. The Action Scorecards fill this critical gap by providing councils with clear priorities and a platform to share best practices. A launch event for Wales Climate Cymru is cohosting an online launch event for Wales, to explore what the Scorecards results say about climate action led by Welsh local authorities on 10th July at 12 noon. We'll be able to compare with 2023 and identify progress made in the last couple years to mitigate climate change and protect biodiversity.
