Our January presenter will be Michelle (Meech) Carter. Meech has served as the clean energy campaigns director at the North Carolina League of Conservation Voters since August of 2023. Her mission is to ensure clean, reliable, and affordable energy for all residents, with an intentional focus on communities of color. Meech manages regulatory and community energy work, and she lobbies at the NC General Assembly in defense of clean energy.
She will present the LARA (Listen, Affirm, Respond, Ask/Add) method for connecting through and with conflict. Participants will have the opportunity to practice using the LARA method with various scenarios to challenge common climate misinformation.
Climate Café is a time to get together, talk about climate, and participate in community action.
Note there is a parking lot onsite. Plan to arrive few minutes early to purchase coffee, other beverages, and snacks and to sign in.
