British politics is shifting in worrying ways. Far-right forces are growing, pushing attacks on workers’ rights and environmental protections, while Labour struggles to respond with bold, transformative plans. Across the left, new initiatives — from grassroots climate campaigns to community-led labour projects — are gaining momentum, showing that real change depends on organised movements, not just party politics.

At the same time, the climate crisis is already reshaping working life — from extreme heat and unsafe conditions to restructures justified in the name of “net zero.” Energy companies are cashing in. Councils are collapsing under austerity. Decisions about our futures are being made without us.

Join us on 19 March to talk about how the labour movement steps into this space with confidence. Climate change is not a side issue for unions — it cuts through pay, safety, public services, housing, transport and energy. If the economy is going to be reorganised, working people need to be the ones organising it.

On 12 September in Brighton, the day before TUC Congress, Workers Planet returns with our 2026 Political Education Festival. It’ll bring together rank-and-file reps, Trades Councils, climate organisers and community activists from across the UK — not just for panels and strategy sessions, but for collective joy. Expect serious political education alongside art, music and the social spaces where real relationships are built. We believe movements grow stronger when people actually want to be there.

We’re recruiting volunteers now to help shape and deliver the festival — from stewarding and outreach to programme support, comms and local mobilisation. A small contribution of time can help build something nationally connected and locally rooted.

If you’re a trade unionist who knows the workplace is a climate frontline.
If you’re a climate activist who knows we won’t win without organised labour.
If you want to help build a working-class climate politics that feels alive, creative and grounded in real struggles.

Join us on 19 March.
Let’s get organised.
