An overview of climate change's impacts on human health, along with suggestions for preparation and action.

Katherine Allen grew up in Venezuela, Colombia, Australia, and Hong Kong. She has also lived in NY, CT, NC, LA, HI, and for the past 13 years, Flagstaff. She began college as a wildlife biology major and holds a B.S. degree in Zoology. After college graduation, she served for 2 years in the Peace Corps, teaching science at Mhlatane High School, eSwatini, Southern Africa. She earned her M.P.H. in Health Education, Health Communication, and International Health from Tulane University's School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine, did policy analysis for the State of Louisiana’s Health Department, implemented her pro-breastfeeding program at Slidell Memorial Hospital. She currently teaches health science courses at NAU, including creating and teaching a brand new health and climate change online course. Married for 35 years, she and her husband have 3 grown sons and one grand-daughter.
