As part of the Global Day of Action for Climate Justice, communities around the world will rise under the shared message:

“This world is ours — and it is not for sale.”

In Wales, Global Climate Justice Cymru is bringing together communities, campaigners and decision-makers for a powerful conversation about how different communities are affected by the climate crisis and how they can be centred in building the solutions.

Climate change is not only about melting ice caps or distant disasters. It is a justice issue, already felt here in Wales and across the world — in cold homes, rising bills, polluted air, unsafe work, and racial, gendered, economic inequality, floods and draughts.

This event will spotlight frontline voices — from women, youth, racialised communities, disabled people,  Indigenous and frontline communities — who are often left out of climate decision-making, despite being first to feel its impact.

Why This Matters

Too often, climate policy is shaped about communities, not with them.

This conversation asks:

• Who carries the weight of climate breakdown?
  

• Who is excluded from Wales’ climate transition?
  

• How do we build a truly fair response?

We believe every community in Wales has wisdom, agency and leadership to bring. And we believe politicians must listen and act accordingly.

Yng Nghymru, mae Cyfiawnder Hinsawdd Byd-eang Cymru yn dod â chymunedau, ymgyrchwyr a gwneuthurwyr penderfyniadau ynghyd ar gyfer sgwrs bwerus ynghylch sut mae gwahanol gymunedau’n cael eu heffeithio gan yr argyfwng hinsawdd a sut y gallant ganolbwyntio ar adeiladu’r atebion.

Nid yw newid hinsawdd yn ymwneud â chapiau iâ sy’n toddi neu drychinebau pell yn unig. Mae’n fater cyfiawnder, sydd eisoes yn cael ei deimlo yma yng Nghymru ac ar draws y byd — mewn cartrefi oer, biliau cynyddol, aer llygredig, gwaith anniogel, ac anghydraddoldeb hiliol, rhywedd, economaidd, llifogydd a drafftiau.

Bydd y digwyddiad hwn yn tynnu sylw at leisiau rheng flaen — o fenywod, ieuenctid, Pobloedd Frodorol, pobl anabl, cymunedau Brodorol a rheng flaen — sy’n aml yn cael eu gadael allan o wneud penderfyniadau hinsawdd, er gwaethaf y ffaith mai nhw yw’r cyntaf i deimlo ei effaith.
