Australia’s first National Climate Risk Assessment (NCRA) made clear that Australia needs a coordinated plan of action to prepare for worsening climate impacts and ensures no person or community is left to manage them alone.
Renew Australia for All – an alliance of 80 + organisations from across community, environment, health, as well as unions, clean industry and faith groups– is launching a Climate Safety Plan (CSP)--a detailed package of adaptation and resilience policies aimed at spurring major investment and policy reform in the 2026 Federal Budget.
The Plan will propose policies spanning eight key areas: built environment; health; insurance; emergency management; community resilience; food and agriculture; workers' rights; and income support.
We will hear from leaders to find out what we can do to make our communities climate safe:
- Kate Thwaites MP, Special Envoy for Climate Change Adaptation and Resilience.
- Madeleine Serle, Maribyrnong Community Recovery Association.
- Angela Ashley-Chiew, Environment Victoria.
- Shweta Dakin, GenWest and;
- Emma Bacon, Sweltering Cities.
Tea, coffee and a light snack will be provided.
