Youth around the world inspired by Greta Thunberg are walking out of school on Friday, September 20 to demand action on climate change. Join youth from the Ashland School District for our local walkout alongside the thousands of walkouts across the world. Our generation will see the most extreme impacts of the climate crisis. Youth in Ashland are demanding that Governor Kate Brown take action by leading the way forward on an Oregon Green New Deal that transition our communities to renewable energy and off fossil fuels. Students will meet outside of Ashland High School at 10:30AM and march to the plaza together. Adults who want to support the youth gather at the Plaza at 10:30AM to welcome the youth.
