Joining us this evening will be representatives from Woodbury Public Safety. They will give "a comprehensive presentation of what the technology has the capability to do, how exactly we use it, safeguards we currently have in place, as well as additional safety steps we are looking to implement in the near future".

After WPS has completed their presentation, I will present to them questions regarding the use of the technology. Please email to sd47coffeeandconversation@gmail.com any question you would like to be asked. Those sent in advance will be presented first; I will also provide questionnaire slips on which a question can be written and submitted at the meeting.

This meeting will be a "fact-finding" gathering, which by necessity must be constrained within a scope to which WPS can honestly answer. In simple terms, this means that this will be a meeting to learn "what" and "how", but not to discuss or debate "why" or "whether".

I expect a good turnout for this timely topic, and thus ask: Please RSVP for this meeting if you plan to attend. An accurate count of attendees is very important for this particular gathering.

Davanni's, I grant you, is an unusual choice for a Coffee & Conversation. It has sufficient space, and wall-mounted monitors on which to display the WPS presentation, and (most critically) was available. In reward for their hospitality, I'm planning on buying some appetizers for the attendees (another first for C&C); if you're attending, have a look at the menu and send along a suggestion for what I might include in the order.
