Northern VA advocates for justice, gather your friends, neighbors, family members, colleagues for this nonpartisan voter engagement and mobilization opportunity in Northern Virginia.

St. Augustine Catholic invites people of all faiths to gather at Thomas Jefferson Library on the last day of early voting in Virginia. Come out and vote early! And after you vote, or if you have already voted, be a joyful presence to encourage voters to head into the polls.

Bring your signs (nonpartisan, pro-voting signs, faithful social justice messages) so we can encourage passersby to stop and vote.

What is on the ballot?

• A U.S. Senator: Democratic incumbent Mark Warner faces Republican Bert Mizusawa.
• U.S. House of Representatives: There will be contested races in all 11 districts.
• Three proposed amendments to the state constitution: They deal with abortion/reproductive rights, civil rights restoration for felons, same-sex marriage
• Some localities will have local elections for city council and other offices. (If TJ library is not in your voting district, you may wish to gather with us -- but vote in your location)
• Some localities will also hold referendums on local issues. (If TJ library is not in your voting district, you may wish to gather with us -- but vote in your location)

See details on candidates and referendums at the VA Department of Elections website.

Pope Francis said, "Let us not forget that 'responsible citizenship is a virtue, and participation in political life is a moral obligation...’”

Bishop William J. Barber II (TFAM) has issued a 'Moral Monday' call for five or 10 neighbors to walk together and be a presence at the polls in every city and community. Let's do this, together!
