Community Climate Solidarity Gathering
Start: Sunday, July 12, 2026•11:00 AM
End: Sunday, July 12, 2026•04:00 PM
Location: Easton Community Centre • Kilburn St, Bristol, BS5 6AW GB
All across the UK communities are experiencing the impacts of extreme weather and the rise of the far-right. On the surface these issues might seem unconnected but if we dig a bit deeper we see that those who are targeting migrants and LGBTQI+ communities are also heavily invested in climate denialism and the tearing up of policies to tackle climate change.
We’re inviting people in Bristol with interests in food, housing, local mutual aid, community self-defence, social justice, repair, energy and more to come together to explore:
How are communities already preparing for climate shocks in Bristol, what can we learn, and how can we grow it?
How can we share experiences, learnings and connections across difference in a way that strengthens community resilience and solidarity around both climate impacts and the rise of the far right?
We're hoping to share a fully vegan lunch from Two Trees Caterers. Please let us know when you sign up if you have any other dietary requirements.
This event is organised and hosted by Yaz Brien, Liz Snook and Rona Hardie who are all local to BS5 and concerned about the questions we're going to explore.
We hope by bringing people together for community conversations and shared learning we can build trust and strengthen our ability to show up for each other in ways that we know Bristolians have a long history of doing in style.
This gathering is made possible with the support of the Network for Social Change Charitable Trust's community climate resilience project.
