EVENT POSTPONED TO DECEMBER 10TH, 6-8p!

Eileen O’Neill Burke is the head of the State’s Attorney’s Office, in charge of Chicago’s prosecutors. Since she was elected last year, Burke has made systematic changes to...

(1) incarcerate more people,
(2) dismantle policies and programs meant to protect the rights of people prior to conviction,
(3) and increase her budget.

Join us on Wednesday, November 12th from 6-8pm at Grace Place for this Community Teach-in! We will discuss what the state's attorney is responsible for, the harm Burke's office has caused thus far, and how we can fight back.

Speakers:

Mark Clements, Chicago Torture Justice Center

Matthew McLoughlin, Illinois Network for Pretrial Justice

Naomi Johnson and Austin Segal, Chicago Appleseed

Emmanuel Andre, Cook County Public Defender's Office

Food will be provided. The event space is on ground level and wheelchair accessible. If you have other access needs, please email Harley Pomper at harley@chicagotorturejustice.org and we will do our best to meet them.
