IS SINGLE PAYER HEALTH CARE IN MASSACHUSETTS THE ANSWER?
The Mass-Care Community Health Center Task Force invites you to a virtual forum. We see the growing threats to our vital community health centers (CHCs) and their mission to improve primary care for medically under-served people. The crisis has accelerated under the current federal administration, but the problems go beyond politics to the for-profit structure of healthcare financing.
Primary care and community healthcare delivery are losing ground as procedural care is more profitable. And yet primary care-based systems are less expensive and have better outcomes worldwide.
Please join us in a forum to discuss advocating at the state level for legislative solutions.
- What are the current threats to CHCs?
- What are current proposals before the legislature to address the crisis for community health centers and primary care, including PC4You?
- How can we ensure care for immigrant patients?
- As our patients lose insurance or become under-insured, what about free clinics – helpful or hurtful?
- Is a state single payer via the Health Care Trust a viable solution and will it protect the special forms
- of reimbursement that CHCs have so struggled to win?
- What are the economics of state single payer in Massachusetts, how would it be administered, and what would the transition be like?
