Pipeline giant Williams Transco has been granted federal approval for their Southeast Supply Enhancement Project (SSEP), a new high-pressure methane gas pipeline that will run through Wallburg, Midway, and Welcome, and expand a compressor station northwest of Lexington.
The SSEP would mainly serve industrial customers outside of Davidson County, including data centers, and would create just a few local permanent jobs. This pipeline could attract more industrial projects to Davidson County, like methane gas power plants & data centers. This infrastructure could result in increased utility bills, polluted air and water, and harm the quality of life for Davidson County residents.
Join us on Thursday, February 26th, for a public meeting to discuss next steps for community pipeline monitoring and actions you can take to protect the community from potential new methane gas power plants.
