Community Organising for Migration Narrative Change 05.06.25 | 9.30-4.30pm | Lift Islington, 45 White Lion St, N1 9PW GB

How do we challenge harmful migration narratives—and what does it take to build something better?

Join the Migrants’ Rights Network (MRN) and the Migration & Border Violence Participatory Action Research Hub at City St George’s, University of London for a full-day interactive event exploring how we collectively change the conversation on migration.

The morning will bring together organisers, community leaders, local government, researchers and campaigners to map the current narrative landscape and share tools, challenges, and learning from across the sector.

In the afternoon, MRN’s Words Matter Community Organisers will lead hands-on workshops exploring what narrative change looks like in practice—from creative facilitation and multilingual spaces to building trust in divided communities. These workshops draw directly on lived experience and local organising.

This event is part of a long-term collaboration between MRN and City St George’s University to centre community-led knowledge, deepen cross-sector alliances, and build shared strategies for shifting power through narrative change.
