In observance of Juneteenth, the Michigan Transformation Collective will be offering a free community Racial Healing Circle.

The Racial Healing Circle process brings together individuals from varying identities and racial backgrounds in a curated space to share personal narratives and provide insight, understanding, and appreciation of one another.

The circle provides the opportunity to engage the heart through truth telling and openness to listening to the experiences of others. By engaging at this level, we hope to illuminate past and current truths about the trauma and harm caused by racism, both individually and collectively. After a racial healing experience, we hope participants will be able to:

• Gain new or clearer insight into the experiences of peers and how these experiences helped to create or maintain oppression, discrimination, and/or racism

• Leave with a different relationship with each other

• See the positive effects of being vulnerable through reflective storytelling
