Community Safety Training: De-Escalation
Start: Saturday, May 17, 2025•03:30 PM

Learn skills and techniques to calm conflict and de-escalate high tension situations.
This training will walk you through fundamental principles of awareness and disclosure, self-regulation, and emotional mirroring language. These principles apply to emotionally elevated, high-stress settings such as customer service, volunteer work, and protest actions. The training will engage participants in a facilitated, non-hierarchical discussion group in which all are encouraged to share their experiences, their strategies, and their support with one another.
Powerpoint slides will be available for download. No supplies or experience needed.
This event is part of White Center Solidarity's Community Safety Training Series, a string of workshops focused on helping White Center neighbors learn practical skills and connect with other community members exploring ways we can keep each other safe through care and solidarity.
White Center Solidarity is a community of neighbors committed to making White Center a supportive, safe, and resilient place for all. In the face of growing isolation, division and insecurity, we believe we are stronger together when we know each other, help each other, and work as neighbors for the common good!
