Seed the Commons is back from Brazil where we participated in the People’s Summit Towards COP30! We also co-organized a solidarity march in San Francisco that took place on the same day that we marched in Belém alongside thousands of activists from around the world, calling for real solutions to the climate crisis.

Join this report back where SEIU Local 101 staff and Seed the Commons will share news and thoughts about the failures of COP30, experiences and lessons from the People’s Summit, and will speak about the solutions being put forth by unions, Indigenous peoples, grassroots organizations and the rest of civil society–and how this all ties into our local issues and activism.

This is a hybrid event. A light dinner is provided for those attending in person.

There will also be a free sampling of veganic dates from The Date People, a California farm that is paving the way for a climate-friendly food system!
