Make your commute a crafty commute - get creative on public transit, connect with the craft community, and win some prizes!

One of the great joys of riding public transit is the time and space for creative expression - whether you're knitting, crocheting, sketching, coloring, embroidering, or more!

To celebrate the beautiful variety of crafts we see folks doing on public transit, we're hosting Crafty Commute Week! The rules are simple - to participate, all you need to do is take a photo of yourself crafting on transit, post it to social media (Instagram, TikTok, Bluesky, Reddit), and tag @transbay.coalition #TransitMonth2026 #CraftyCommute. Prizes will be awarded to those that participate most frequently during the week, and include:

IMPORTANT CAVEAT! Not every craft is commute-safe! Please AVOID crafts that could be messy or disruptive to other passengers, like:
