FREE CRIMINAL JUSTICE REFORM and ELECTION PROTECTION WORKSHOP
Everyday across America, men and women from Pittsburgh are on the job hunt finding their paths blocked by hiring barriers because of an arrest or conviction from the past. Communities of color around the country are over criminalized and over incarcerated. Able-bodied men, women and youth are entering the revolving door that is our criminal justice system and their ability to work and live with all the rights of American citizenship are stripped away from them--including their right to vote!
Join the AFL-CIO, Coalition of Black Trade Unionist, A. Phillip Randolph Institute and the ACLU for a Criminal Justice Reform and Election Protection Workshop where we’ll debunk the most common myths about our criminal justice system and understand the history, growth and impact of incarceration in our communities. It’s time to make a different and protect our votes and our families! This event is open to the public, but you must RSVP to attend.
