Cuba - Peace, Solidarity & Resistance: The Critical Role of the Cuban Institute for Friendship with the Peoples

Peace, Solidarity, and Resistance:

The Critical Role of the Cuban Institute for Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP)

In steadfast resistance to imperialism, war, aggression, and occupation, Cuba - the voice of those without a voice, continues to forge a path towards a better world as a mighty force for world peace through international solidarity.

The Instituto Cubano de Amistad con los Pueblos (ICAP) (Cuban Institute for Friendship with the Peoples), was formed in 1960 by Fidel Castro, and has played a critical role in informing people outside of Cuba the progress and achievements of the Cuban Revolution, despite threats, attacks, a suffocating blockade and the occupation of a foreign military base from the world's most powerful imperialists - the USA.

Today, ICAP has relations with over 2000 solidarity groups around the world, and is the Regional Coordinator of the Americas for the World Peace Council.

Join us on Wednesday, June 12th, at 7:00PM for a speaking event at the BCGEU Hall, 588 Burnside Rd East, in Victoria, BC.

Guest speakers:

  • Victor Gaute - Vice President, ICAP, Havana, Cuba
  • Leima Martinez - North American Director, ICAP, Havana, Cuba
