Join D9 Neighbors for Housing as we dive into housing with each of the candidates for San Francisco’s Congressional seat. At these fireside chats, we’ll learn more about each candidate’s housing platform and what they see as the most promising opportunities for the federal government to improve the availability and affordability of housing.

These conversations will be entirely housing-focused. They are not campaign rallies or debates but rather a chance for us to get into the details of how our potential representatives will tackle the national housing crisis from DC. And as with all of our events, they’re also an opportunity to meet neighbors and build relationships. We hope you can join us!

RSVP required. Food and drink provided.

About Saikat Chakrabarti:

Saikat was an early employee at Stripe before leaving tech for progressive politics — serving as campaign manager for Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's historic 2018 upset victory and then as her Chief of Staff, where he led the drafting of the Green New Deal. He currently leads New Consensus, a policy think tank focused on economic mobilization and clean energy, and is involved locally with organizations including the Housing Accelerator Fund and the Non-Profit Housing Association of Northern California. Saikat lives with his wife and daughter in Duboce Triangle.

About D9 Neighbors for Housing:

  • We champion the creation of more housing in Bernal Heights, the Mission, the Portola, and St. Mary’s Park—the neighborhoods we call home.

  • We envision a San Francisco where thoughtfully designed housing of all kinds—affordable, market-rate, public, and social—is plentiful and dense, nurturing the vibrant and diverse communities who want to live, work, and raise families in our beloved city.

  • We do not endorse candidates. Our members share a belief in the importance of building more housing and a love for San Francisco but have diverse perspectives on many other topics. Most of our events are open to the public. Learn more at www.d9neighbors.com.
