Join D9 Neighbors for Housing as we dive into housing with each of the candidates for San Francisco’s Congressional seat. At these fireside chats, we’ll learn more about each candidate’s housing platform and what they see as the most promising opportunities for the federal government to improve the availability and affordability of housing.

These conversations will be entirely housing-focused. They are not campaign rallies or debates but rather a chance for us to get into the details of how our potential representatives will tackle the national housing crisis from DC. And as with all of our events, they’re also an opportunity to meet neighbors and build relationships. We hope you can join us!

RSVP required. Food and drink provided.

About Scott Wiener:

Scott Wiener is a California State Senator representing San Francisco. A Harvard Law-trained attorney who has lived in the Castro since 1997, he previously served as a San Francisco Supervisor for District 8 before his election to the State Senate in 2016. He has authored more than 100 state laws, including measures that require streamlined approval in cities falling behind on production goals, enable mid-rise residential buildings near transit, and reform the use of environmental review to block housing. If elected, he would be the first openly LGBTQ+ person to represent San Francisco in Congress.

About D9 Neighbors for Housing:

  • We champion the creation of more housing in Bernal Heights, the Mission, the Portola, and St. Mary’s Park—the neighborhoods we call home.

  • We envision a San Francisco where thoughtfully designed housing of all kinds—affordable, market-rate, public, and social—is plentiful and dense, nurturing the vibrant and diverse communities who want to live, work, and raise families in our beloved city.

  • We do not endorse candidates. Our members share a belief in the importance of building more housing and a love for San Francisco but have diverse perspectives on many other topics. Most of our events are open to the public. Learn more at www.d9neighbors.com.
