The climate crisis is here. Utility bills are unaffordable. Good clean energy jobs are disappearing. Elders and children are forced to stay inside because of air pollution. Yet Governor Hochul is siding with the oil and gas lobby by attempting to roll back the pollution reduction requirements in New York’s climate law. And she’s trying to sneak her attack past New Yorkers by attaching her scheme to the state budget, which is due April 1st.

We can’t let that happen.

That’s why we’re descending on Albany on March 25th to demand that our state legislators stand up to Hochul and protect New York’s climate law – and make Hochul implement the law to lower our energy bills, create good jobs and cut pollution. Join us!

Make no mistake, with our federal government’s energy and climate policy completely controlled by the fossil fuel industry and President Trump on a trajectory to authoritarian rule, states like New York must fight back.

But from approving fracked gas pipelines and power plants to failing to build utility-scale renewable energy, and halting cap-and-invest to failing to take on high fossil fuel energy bills, plus much more, Governor Hochul keeps siding with corporate polluters and Trump.

Now, as New York fails to set policy to hit our climate law’s pollution reduction requirements, Hochul seeks to move the goal posts to let herself off the hook. Yet just like Trump isn’t a King, Hochul isn’t a Queen: she can’t just change the law by herself. She must follow the law. The Legislature can stop Hochul’s cynical scheme – and ensure she follows the law, but they need to hear from all of us now.

The budget deadline is April 1st, so we’re calling on you to join this large protest on Wednesday, March 25th to influence the negotiations - and stop Hochul from raising our energy bills. destroying good jobs, and increasing pollution.

We will have buses booked from across the state. Join us to protest Hochul’s attempted rollback and urge the Legislature to stop her scheme!
