We survived the midterms! Did we survive the midterms???
In this month's DPH General Assembly, we'll gather together as a community of public health justice organizers and activists to debrief what was one of the most challenging, stressful, and consequential elections in our lifetimes. What can we learn? What should we do? How does this shape our vision and strategy for the future?
We will be guided in these questions by Jeff Levi*, Ph.D., Professor Emeritus, Department of Health Policy & Management at George Washington University.
Guiding questions:
- What can we learn from the election? What is our interpretation?
- What have we learned from DPH this past year?
- What should our strategy be for next year?
*Jeffrey Levi, Ph.D., is professor emeritus of health policy and management at the Milken Institute School of Public Health at the George Washington University, where his work focused on the intersection of public health, the health care system and the multi-sector collaborations required to improve health. He previously served a decade as Executive Director of the Trust for America’s Health. During the mid 1980s, he was Director of Government Relations and Executive Director of the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force and in the early 1990s held policy positions at AIDS Action Council and Foundation (now AIDS United). He served as Deputy Director of the White House Office of National AIDS Policy during the first term of President Bill Clinton.
